Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Skillsync (“Skillsync,” “we,” “us”) lets you build with AI coding agents alongside your friends and share those sessions as reviewable threads. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to skillsync.com, the Campfire CLI, and related services.

Information we collect

Account information. When you join the waitlist or sign in, we collect your email address. If you sign in with GitHub or Google, we receive your name, email, profile handle, and avatar from that provider. We do not receive your provider password.

Session content you upload. The Campfire CLI uploads the AI coding transcripts you choose to sync — prompts, model responses, tool calls, code diffs, and related metadata (file paths, timestamps, the tool used). This is the core content of the product, and you decide what to upload and who can see it.

Content you create on the platform. Threads, comments, decision traces, skills, workspaces, projects, your profile, and your follow/sharing relationships.

Usage and device data. We use PostHog for product analytics and session replay (recordings of your interactions within the app, which can capture pages viewed, clicks, and similar interactions). We collect standard log data such as IP address, browser, and device type. Analytics requests are proxied through our own domain.

How we use your information

How your content is shared

You control the visibility of every thread. Visibility levels range from private (only you), to shared with specific people, to workspace members, to anyone with the link, to fully public and discoverable. Content is private until you choose to share it. Making a thread public or unlisted means anyone with access can view its contents.

AI processing

Skillsync's AI features process your session content using third-party model providers — primarily Anthropic (Claude) — to generate summaries, decision traces, skills, and assistant responses. We route only the content needed to perform the task you requested. We do not use your content to train our own or any third-party foundation models.

What we don't do

Service providers

We share data with vendors who process it on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, including:

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete threads and other content at any time, and you can request deletion of your account. We may retain limited information as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Security

Live coding sessions are end-to-end encrypted and not readable by us. Sessions you upload or save are stored on our servers so we can render, search, and run features over them — this content is not end-to-end encrypted, though we encrypt it in transit and at rest and limit access to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

To exercise any of these, email us at founders@skillsync.wiki.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and process data there and in other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Children

Skillsync is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
